Meet The HoneySuckle Mountain Team

We’re more than just an event planning company. We’re a team with the creative capacity to design and execute an unforgettable event. While we specialize in weddings, we can make all of life’s special events unforgettable.

What makes us different? We are Coordinators, Designers and Planners! This not only saves you the expense of hiring three companies, you have one point of contact for every detail leading up to the main event. Our services are truly unique and unmatched in the industry. One or both of the Owners are dedicated to you from the time you choose the venue and long after your special day.

We create unique environments to make life-long memories by designing and crafting distinctive events based on your exclusive needs and wishes. We transform environments with our mix of solutions that integrate linens, floral design, lighting and furnishings. And, we work with some of the best local artists, florists, bakers, designers, fabricators and chefs in the business to bring experiences to life. Our partners are more than just collaborators — they’re our family, friends and neighbors! We will take care of you with the hospitality you expect in the South, and provide the elegance you deserve at a luxury mountain retreat.

A Note from Donna

Hello and welcome to Reflections at the Pond and HoneySuckle Mountain Design & Events LLC! I am Donna Clark, a wife of thirty-five (35) years, a Mom, and a retired CFO. I am now working on my second career as a wedding/event planner – fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning a small business. When I am not planning your event, you can find me playing in the dirt in my yard and garden or sitting on the deck overlooking our farm.

Experience in a detail-oriented, analytically-focused, intensely-demanding and fast-paced career (aka, number cruncher, pencil pusher, bean counter), serves me well as the co-owner of a new small business. And, combine this experience with an adeptness in all genres of design, a genuine emotional connection to people, and special opportunities along the way and ta-da, you have an event planner!

I have always loved to plan, design and create stunning, yet comfy spaces in which to entertain family and friends. Even at work, I never could sit at my desk while the office went unadorned, lol! And, of course, there was always a holiday party to plan, and while serving on Boards of Professional Organizations, I planned conferences for up to four-hundred (400) attendees.

As you might have guessed, my creative talents are best suited to implementing details. I never lose sight of the grand plan, but truly believe the specifics are what turn an ordinary party into a spine-tingling, heart-stirring, extraordinary event.

While you might expect me to be an introvert, I have actually transformed into quiet the socialite (okay, I still can’t dance)! Seriously, my favorite part of this new adventure is interacting with the young brides and grooms and their family and friends. I am often quiet yet very perceptive; focused but flexible; organized but sometimes spontaneous; wise but modest; and, always warm and witty!

The greatest compliment is when I look into the face of that bride, and without saying a word, I know she is telling me “you nailed it!”

I hope to meet you soon. We’ve got a party to plan!

A Note from Nicole

Hi!  I’m Nicole, Co-Owner of Honey Suckle Mountain Design and Events – nothing captivates me more than flowers, food, family, friends and a fun party (not particularly in that order- although I do love exquisite flowers)! My love of planning (and all things pretty) traces back to my Mother and Grandmother. From hosting tea parties in my playhouse when I was 5 years old, to planning the company Christmas parties, I was always up front and center to donate my time and efforts to the decorating cause!  You know it’s the southern thing to do – make spaces pretty, and make people feel welcome!

The 23 years I spent as software implementation manager more than prepared me to think quickly on my feet, manage large groups of people, and reboot and restart when needed!  Even though, I enjoyed interaction with my customer base, my dream was to own a design company.   I decided my genuine love of people, conversation, planning and design would best serve me as an event planner! So here I am living this amazing life, and this thing I once called a ‘hobby’ I now call a passionate career and business!

If you spend more than 30 seconds with me, you will find I have a flair for chatting and a love of heartfelt stories.  I believe these traits along with intense attention to detail, allow me to create a more personal and intimate gathering. At any event you will find me meandering through the crowd with a watchful eye, a warm smile, and my trusty check list making sure you and your guests are enjoying themselves immensely and having FUN! Everything I do, I like to approach with a joyful heart, whether its leading our team through the tiny details and the grand overview, or simply helping a bride and groom make the complex choice of the best cake flavor (this is the hard part of the job – but hey!  Someone has to do it)!

When we are not planning the next big event, you will find me at home with my husband Patrick, and my two furbabies, enjoying a good book on my front porch, or relaxing and sharing recipes by our outdoor firepit with friends and family.

I look forward to meeting YOU!

Every detail matters!

A few words from our guests…

“I really cannot say enough about the wonderful ladies at Reflections and they have the most gorgeous venue . . . They have taken so much stress away from me and my family and made every step of planning fun. I would recommend 10 out of 10!”

Anna Turbyfill McConnell

“Donna and Nicole . . .  are the best! The space itself is beautiful. We were supposed to use the outdoor venue but got rained out. They moved it indoors last minute and make it even more amazing than I hoped. They work well and are in contact with all vendors. Anything we wanted, we got it! The house on site is a lovely, comfortable place for the bridal party to get ready. Flowers, decor timeline, you name it. My whole day was flawless and more perfect than I could’ve dreamed! Truly a stress free time.”

Abigail Seagle Petty

“My wedding day was something I had always dreamed of as a girl. When my family, and my now husband,  toured  Reflections at the Pond, we knew this is where we wanted to say “i do”!  Donna and Nicole were as thrilled with the details of our special day as we were, so I couldn’t imagine choosing any other venue.  There were no requests to big or to small, they weren’t willing to tackle and execute perfectly! My wedding day was perfect and it was thanks to these two amazing ladies, they have a heart for each of their brides and their future spouses!  I wouldn’t choose anywhere BUT Reflections at the Pond!”
