A Note from Donna
Hello and welcome to Reflections at the Pond and HoneySuckle Mountain Design & Events LLC! I am Donna Clark, a wife of thirty-five (35) years, a Mom, and a retired CFO. I am now working on my second career as a wedding/event planner – fulfilling a lifelong dream of owning a small business. When I am not planning your event, you can find me playing in the dirt in my yard and garden or sitting on the deck overlooking our farm.
Experience in a detail-oriented, analytically-focused, intensely-demanding and fast-paced career (aka, number cruncher, pencil pusher, bean counter), serves me well as the co-owner of a new small business. And, combine this experience with an adeptness in all genres of design, a genuine emotional connection to people, and special opportunities along the way and ta-da, you have an event planner!
I have always loved to plan, design and create stunning, yet comfy spaces in which to entertain family and friends. Even at work, I never could sit at my desk while the office went unadorned, lol! And, of course, there was always a holiday party to plan, and while serving on Boards of Professional Organizations, I planned conferences for up to four-hundred (400) attendees.
As you might have guessed, my creative talents are best suited to implementing details. I never lose sight of the grand plan, but truly believe the specifics are what turn an ordinary party into a spine-tingling, heart-stirring, extraordinary event.
While you might expect me to be an introvert, I have actually transformed into quiet the socialite (okay, I still can’t dance)! Seriously, my favorite part of this new adventure is interacting with the young brides and grooms and their family and friends. I am often quiet yet very perceptive; focused but flexible; organized but sometimes spontaneous; wise but modest; and, always warm and witty!
The greatest compliment is when I look into the face of that bride, and without saying a word, I know she is telling me “you nailed it!”
I hope to meet you soon. We’ve got a party to plan!
